Seven Man Utd transfers Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants answers for as trio set for January exits

Domestic action resumes this weekend, with Manchester City hosting Liverpool in a clash which could force the Reds to take action in January - depending on the result - if they are serious about gunning for the league title.

Activity will be equally frenetic towards the bottom of the Premier League table, too, with four teams at risk of being left behind by the rest of the division. Luton Town, Sheffield United, Everton and Burnley are all battling the threat of relegation, and effective new recruits could boost their respective survival bids.

Mount 'doesn't miss Chelsea'

Mason Mount doesn't miss Chelsea as much as people thought he would, reports say.

The Athletic claims those close to Mount feel he has not let his Stamford Bridge exit affect him.

The 24-year-old left Chelsea to join Manchester United in the summer.

He has not had the impact he would have wanted so far at Old Trafford.

Kiwior top of Milan's wishlist

AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal's Jakub Kiwior.

The Poland international is the No 1 centre-back target for the Serie A club, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Kiwior only joined Arsenal from Italian club Spezia last January.

Milan want to sign the 23-year-old on loan, having been impressed with him in his previous spell in Serie A.

Zinchenko calls for two signings

Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko has called on the Gunners to sign two of his international team-mates.

Midfielder Heorhiy Sudakov and versatile defender Mykola Matviyenko have both been linked with exits from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Asked by Ukrainian media who should sign Sudakov, Zinchenko quipped: “I hope to Arsenal!”

Quizzed on who else he believes the Gunners should target from the Ukraine team, the left-back said: “Matviyenko.”

Ten Hag told he 'needs' Griezmann

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag needs a player like Antoine Griezmann to replace Mason Mount in the near future, according to former Red Devils striker Louis Saha.

United are thought to be keen on bringing Griezmann to Old Trafford in January, with the Frenchman back to his best at Atletico Madrid after spending a couple of years in the wilderness at Barcelona.

"Antoine Griezmann is a talented player and unlike many players, there’s never any doubts about him," Saha told Paddy Power. "He’s very mobile and physically he’ll always find the right area. Manchester United’s interest in him shows straight away that there is something wrong.

"They already have Mason Mount, but it means they’re looking at a replacement for him because Griezmann is the type of player that Manchester United need. He’s a clever player who can be in the pocket, create things and score goals."

Newcastle earmark Calvert-Lewin

Newcastle United are tracking Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin with a view to signing him next summer, according to TEAMtalk.

The Magpies are in need of attacking reinforcements due to a series of injury issues, and they may look to recruit a forward in January.

But Eddie Howe is also believed to be thinking long-term, and 26-year-old Calvert-Lewin still has plenty of years at the top level.

Arsenal and Chelsea turned down

Ousmane Diomande has decided to see out the season with Sporting, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.

The 19-year-old has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, among others, since breaking into Sporting's first team.

The centre-back became a full Ivory Coast international earlier this year, and while his 6ft 3in frame should stand him in good stead if he moves to the Premier League, that may have to wait until the summer.

AC Milan are due to hold transfer meetings with Chelsea and Arsenal, with three players on the agenda, according to Calciomercato.

The Rossoneri are keen to find centre-back reinforcements in January.

Benoit Badiashile and Malang Sarr have caught their eye at Stamford Bridge, while Arsenal's Jakub Kiwior is also believed to be of interest.

Jorginho talks stall

Contract talks between Jorginho and Arsenal are deadlocked, according to the Italian midfielder's agent.

Jorginho is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until the end of the season, but there has been no progress on extending his stay beyond 2024.

"Everything is at a standstill," said Joao Santos. "We'll think about it after February. However, the priority remains Arsenal."

Griezmann to Man Utd stance

Antoine Griezmann is rumoured to be a target for Manchester United, and according to Sport, the Frenchman has a soft spot for the club.

Griezmann has been in scintillating form for Atletico Madrid this season, scoring 12 goals in 16 games.

And he could be attainable in January for the value of his meagre £22million release clause.

The 32-year-old is said to be a big fan of David Beckham, with United described as his 'personal weakness'.

Man City star downplays exit

Manchester City youngster Oscar Bobb has insisted that he would rather remain at the Etihad Stadium than leave on loan.

The Norwegian, 20, has made seven first-team appearances this season.

"It’s nice," he told Dagbladet. "It’s a place you want to be. It’s the best place you can be to develop and improve as a footballer. There is not one person [inside the dressing room] who stands out.

"[On loan] is not the way I want to go. You never know, but I'd rather be at City."

Varane discussed at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have internally discussed the possibility of signing Raphael Varane from Manchester United next summer, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

The former Real Madrid centre-back has found his game time limited by Erik ten Hag this season, and there have been murmurs that he will look to move on at the next plausible opportunity.

Bayern Munich are also rumoured to be interested in Varane, who would surely command a long list of suitors if his availability becomes an open secret.

Chelsea's next move

Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Corinthians wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo, with Liverpool reported to be pulling back from the transfer race.

The 18-year-old is admired by various top Premier League clubs, but the Reds' preference to allow youngsters from South America to gain experience in Europe before bringing them to Anfield is likely to see them leave the battle to Chelsea and Arsenal, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Barcelona are also in the mix, but their financial issues, mixed with the Gunners' Financial Fair Play restrictions, could give Chelsea the upper hand to make Moscardo their next signing.

Arsenal rival Tottenham

Arsenal and Tottenham have been teased by the agent of Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin.

Florin Manea, the agent in question, has openly admitted to holding regular meetings with top European clubs regarding the 21-year-old.

And the north London duo will be licking their lips at the prospect of Dragusin '100 per cent' leaving Genoa by next summer.

"The people from Genoa know," Manea told Fanatik. "I have been in London for some time and have almost weekly meetings with important teams. We are getting closer. I spoke with Newcastle, with Arsenal, with Tottenham.

"I also have the messages with them, conversations. There are teams that ask. I want to say that, 100 per cent by next summer, Radu will play for a very strong club.

"One in the top 10 in the world. He wants to be in the Premier League, but I know that Milan like him a lot. I talked to the people there."

Man Utd receive Jadon Sancho offer

Juventus have offered to pay part of Jadon Sancho's salary if they take him on loan from Manchester United in January, according to journalist Rudy Galetti.

The winger has been frozen out by Erik ten Hag, and with no apology forthcoming for their public spat, a winter exit seems inevitable.

United reportedly want to negotiate a permanent deal, but Juve are focused on a loan, which would land the Red Devils with a hefty bill to cover a large portion of Sancho's wages.
